Who the dress most suits
If you have an hourglass shape with a defined waist this is the perfect dress for you, as its slightly shaped on the waist. You can accentuate your waist with the belt and wear the belt tied in the middle or to one side.
If you are pear shaped, if you have a defined waist or pear shaped meaning bigger hips than waist this dress will suit you as it gently flares out from the waist. You may prefer the shorter midi maxi length of the turquoise Mykonos dress, or you can shorten the hemline so the eye is drawn to the lower legs and ankles.
If you are slim and more straight in your torso waist and hips, this dress will look great as you can create more of a waist when you tie the belt centrally.
My waist is larger than my hips ? If you have a larger waist to hips and when shopping, you tend to wear a larger size on your top half this won’t be the most flattering style as the dress shape may draw attention to your upper abdomen below your bust. If you are conscious of your tummy area, then you can try to go up a size, so the fabric is looser.
Will this shape suit a larger bust ? Yes, the bardot top flatters both larger and smaller bra sizes. The ruffled neckline is designed to draw eyes away from the bust area. A great tip if you are larger busted is to wear the style one shoulder to create height instead of across the body.
I am very tall will this dress work for me? Our model wearing the yellow dress is 5ft5 approximately 165cm and is a floor length dress. If you are over 5ft9 or 175cm, we would suggest going up a dress size to give you more room on the bardot one shoulder area. Ladies who have bought this dress who are tall, have gone up a size and been very happy with the fit and length.
What is the Mykonos Maxi Dress length ? The maxi length from armpit seam to hemline 125cm - 49 inches. The lower skirt hemline can be altered if the dress is too long. You can get in touch with us if you would like us to alter the hemline for you.
How do I wear the neckline ? The neckline of this silk resort wear maxi dresses can be worn in so many ways, one shoulder, one arm in one arm out, bardot, on the shoulder, strapless, belted or loose. You can also tie the pretty belt on one shoulder in a bow creating a stylish focal point.
Is the dress sheer ? The upper dress is lined from the bardot top to the second tier of the skirt so this section is not sheer. The lower area is semi sheer, If we lined this fully it would be too much fabric.
Does this cover the arms ? This luxury silk holiday dress can be worn without the belt for a looser fit. If you prefer to cover the upper arms wear in the bardot style as the ruffle on the top of the neckline will cover the upper arms.
I am still unsure. If you would prefer to chat in person to one of the Lindsey Brown resort wear team, we would be very happy to chat over the phone and discuss the best size for you or provide an alternative dress shape.
I want to wear this to a wedding what shoes shall I wear ? Accessorise with warm gold accessories. For an overseas wedding, wear with platform wedges, add a gold clutch bag to finish off this fabulous look. We would suggest earrings and fine bracelets as the neckline does not need a neckline. You can also tie the belt as a bow on the back of the dress or tie on one shoulder in a bow. This dreamy resort wear dress called Mykonos made of a soft silk georgette, is in a beautiful warm fashion forward yellow colourway with a tie dye in contrasting bronze.
