Plus Size Beach Cover-ups by Lindsey Brown are so flattering for every size and height wanting a shapely cover-up to wear to the beach. Our lightweight floaty fabrics and of course the incredible shape and cut of our garments are a match made in heaven. Choose form maxi lengths, shorter above the knee and knee length which we call our standard length of plus size silk beach cover ups. So how do the one size options work? As silk is very light weight instead of having a cover-up in every size the one size options do work. We cut the size 2XLarge to 4XLarge from the same width as our smaller floaty large to xlarge sizes and the difference is the shoulders. The curve of the hips and the tummy area are all a little larger with room for the arm hole to hang low creating a draped sleeve. The necklines of our beach cover-ups are v neck, which we find to be more forgiving on the neckline and easier to wear in warmer climates. The other reason they make it so much easier to take on and off when undressing on the beach.

Our new collection features silk crepe beach cover-ups with even more room on the hips as the seam is shaped to gently glide over the hips and tummy area, so if you are more of a pear shaped figure and like to hide your hips this is the shape for you. Our plus sizes start from 2XLarge in UK sizes is an 18, in USA sizes this is a 14.  So, the 2XLarge to 4XLarge would fit a UK 18-22. If you are just a size UK18, USA 14, maybe consider the Large to XLarge. If you are unsure of the sizes and which would be best, buy two and send one back for a full refund.  Size 5XLarge to 7XLarge has the seams fully extended so the shapes and patterns you see on screen are exactly how you will look in your plus size beach cover up. Lindsey Brown creates placement prints, meaning the fabric is not bought on a roll, the front of your beach cover-ups and sleeves are designed in one section and every beach coverup will look exactly the same. We create unique designs and add motifs to the black neckline, sleeves once the initial print design is created to ensure from every angle our beach cover-ups look fabulous from every angle.

If you are based in USA or Australia, you can always send your measurements by message or email over and we can suggest a size. We do not always add exact measurement online of every increment of the silk garments, but we are very happy to help and explain the sizes. The rule is the sitting down test. If you were sitting down in your XLarge beach cover up, would it feel a little snug on the hips. This could cause stress to the seams, so we do suggest wearing the size that is loose. Our sizes are true to size as we design these floaty beach cover ups to be loose and flattering, the silk fabric drapes beautifully without adding width to any part of the body. If we could dress in silk all year round, we would. So should holiday all year round?

Is silk the best fabric to wear for plus sizes on the beach? Absolutely, silk is a wonderful fabric, it’s cool to wear and very durable but like any fabric if too tight, the seams may open.  If your bust larger than your hips, go for the larger dress size you normally wear. Long Maxi Lengths

Suitable for ladies wanting to cover up from a size Medium up to a size 7XLarge. The length of our maxi is approximately 120cm to 130cm depending on the print and product name. A unique feature of the maxi length styles is the hemline can be altered, the prints have a vertical border or vertical pattern that won’t diminish the flow of the dress or affect the beautiful design.
